What’s the difference between inshore, coastal, and offshore sailing jackets?
Inshore sailing jackets are ideal for sailing close to the shore and not venturing too far. Coastal sailing jackets are great for sailing along the coast and on journeys which don't venture too far at one time. Offshore sailing jackets are for long passages usually over night and well away from the shore.
How do I review multiple sailing jackets and work out what is going to be best for me?
First start with your type of sailing, inshore, coastal or offshore. Once you've made a decision it is a case of looking at the features, thinking about what you might need and then looking at the technical specs such as breathability and waterproofness.
What should I wear underneath a sailing jacket?
The ideal is to wear a base layer and then a mid-layer, something like a fleece underneath your sailing jacket.
