Push Button Quick Release Pin for Laser/ILCA Vang/Kicker

This quick release pin is perfect for putting where you need to easily, and quickly, releasing an attachment on your boat. Simply push the button, the pin releases and pull it out.

We're sourced these specifically for the Laser/ILCA to attach your vang/kicker XD system to the bottom mast section. These pins have been tested and used by 4.7 National Champion and sponsored sailor Jack Graham-Troll for a number of years now.

Having this pin removes the need for a pin and split ring which can be a pain to get done up or undone when your hands are cold.

This has been tested with the official Laser Harken XD kit fitting and works. The pin may not fit the Holt, Allen or other replica systems.

Please note, the handle and button are made from aluminium so please wash your quick release pin very carefully with fresh water after sailing.

Well made, quick and easy to use, avoiding fiddling with tiny pins with cold hands. Excellent and worth every penny

Don’t think, just buy!

I’m afraid I can only add to all the previous positive recommendations. Bought to speed up the disassembly of my Laser after a days racing, no more fiddly messing with little bits I can’t focus on (without reading glasses) and often with cold fingers…..

Quick release pin for Harken Vang

Bought so that Harken Vang can be released quickly. These fit the 1/4 inch Harken Vang kit , the mast tang needs to opened up to 1/4 inch if not already done previously. Have now used once in race conditions and so far so good.Have tied a piece of cord to ring to prevent accidental loss.Far better than fiddling with small split rings and pins in cold or shackle. Price is competitive in the UK and worth bundling with other essential purchase to minimise delivery costs.Ultimately would like all stainless pin but not cost effectively available to my knowledge in UK.

Expensive for a split pin? Worth every pound spent

You know when you come off the water, your hands are sore, your fingers cold and to de-rig the vang from the mast you have to undo that split ring, it takes and age, you drop the ring, you spend five minutes looking for it in the gravel, you give up and the postage on the ring is more than the ring? BUY THIS QUICK RELEASE. It’s less than a round of drinks and you will be forever thankful that with one push of a button the vang slips free, you can de-rig in three minutes and that cup of tea, that slice of cake are just so much closer. If you don't buy this, please remember this review when you are on your hands and knees on a cold day looking through the stones for that ring.
