About Sailing Chandlery

Born out of frustration of our sailing parts not arriving on time for the weekend Andrew Dowley founded the business in 2012 as Dinghy Rope (now Sailing Chandlery). The company started by providing rope from Marlow and Kingfisher as an online service.

The business has grown over the years and we are now running a full online chandlery service with a showroom also open on Canvey Island, Essex.

As a team we are passionate about great customer service, shipping your items quickly and getting them to your door ready for sailing.

We're sailors

We are sailors who are passionate about customer service and getting it right first time. We are currently (at the time of writing) the number one rated company for both Sailing and Boat equipment on TrustPilot. If you're looking for a quick and hassle free service, you've come to the right place.

Getting you back on the water

We don't want you spending time watching others sailing from the shore, that's why we dispatch your orders quickly so you can get as much time on the water as possible. We stock a wide range of sailing products and accessories including ropes, shackles, pulleys, clothing, splicing accessories and more.

Sailing Chandlery

On the 1st February 2018 Dinghy Rope changed to Sailing Chandlery. The same 5 star customer rated service, just under a new name more suited to the service and products we now offer. In 2018 we also became a Laser Performance authorised dealer for class legal spare parts and brand new Laser boats.

Giving back to sailing

Across the country we have a number of sponsored sailors who we support. We also support a range of events every year providing prizes for the winners and most importantly spot prizes for those further down the results.
