Read MoreSome frequently asked questions that other customers have asked us about Sailing Base Layers.
Do I need a base layer under my wetsuit or skiff suit?
In colder conditions you are likely to need a base layer to provide extra warmth under your wetsuit.
What should I wear over a base layer?
What you wear over the top of a base layer depends on your type of sailing. If you are dinghy sailing you will likely consider a wetsuit top. If you are yacht or keelboat sailing you may want to consider a different mid layer and then a sailing jacket.
Do I need multiple layers of base layers for dinghy sailing?
One base layer should be fine for dinghy sailing in colder conditions. This will help to lock in the heat and you can then add a wetsuit top and spray top as well.
Do sailing base layers keep you dry?
Sailing base layers won't keep you 100% dry especially if you capsize. What they will do is help regulate your temperature and most wick moisture and sweat away from your body.
