Gill buoyancy aids are designed for dinghy sailors who need to move freely, from ducking under the boom to climbing back in after a capsize. They sit close to the body, stay put when you're in the water and don't catch on the rig. Find your Gill buoyancy aid in adult and youth sizes below.
The Pro Racer is the racing choice: a low profile, side entry design with nothing on the front to snag on the boom or trapeze hook. The Pursuit has a front zip, which makes it easier to get on and off, and suits club sailing, training and general watersports.
Fit is everything with a buoyancy aid. Choose by chest size and weight, and make sure it is snug with the straps done up. Wearing a spray top or wetsuit underneath? Try it on over your sailing kit. For the layers that go under it, see our Gill wetsuits, or browse all buoyancy aids.

How should a buoyancy aid fit?
It should be snug without restricting your breathing or arm movement. Do up all the straps, then ask someone to pull up on the shoulders. If it rides up past your chin, it is too big or too loose. Always check the chest size and weight range on the product page.
Is a buoyancy aid the same as a life jacket?
No. A buoyancy aid helps you float and swim, and is made for dinghy sailors who expect to end up in the water with help close by. A life jacket has more buoyancy and is designed to turn you face up. For dinghy sailing, a buoyancy aid is the normal choice.
