What makes Zhik wetsuits different from standard neoprene suits?
Zhik's most advanced wetsuits have moved beyond traditional neoprene entirely. Crafted from sustainable, plant-based Yulex® rubber, Zhik's X wetsuit collection offers superior thermal insulation, comfort, durability, and mobility while generating 80% fewer CO2 emissions than conventional neoprene wetsuits. On top of that, the fabric is infused with graphene, an advanced nanoscale material that can return up to 20% more body heat, keeping the wearer warmer for longer, regulating temperatures during low-intensity activity, and aiding the drying process. The result is a suit that is warmer, more flexible, and more sustainable than anything a standard neoprene construction can offer.
What is the Zhik wetsuit range, and which suit should I choose?
Zhik offer two core wetsuit families, designed for different conditions. They are the Zhik Microfleece and Zhik Superwarm. Here at Sailing Chandlery we focus on the X range of wetsuits which are the most technologically advanced versions, incorporating graphene-infused lining and sustainable Yulex® natural rubber. For most UK dinghy sailors, the Microfleece suit is the right choice for May to September search, with a Superwarm for the winter and start and end of season.
Which Zhik wetsuit do you recommend?
Our wetsuit recommendations go between the Zhik Microfleece X and Zhik Superwarm X but it depends on conditions. If you want one wetsuit for all year round the Zhik Superwarm X is the best choice. The Zhik Microfleece X is best for May to September sailing.
