What size dinghy trolley wheels am I likely to need?
Most dinghy trolleys use an inflatable pneumatic wheel which has a tyre size of 4.8 0/4.00-8 and a centre hole of 25mm.
Should buy inflatable dinghy trolley wheels or puncture proof wheels?
This depends on your most common sailing location. Puncture proof wheels can be quite hard so if on bumpy surfaces these won't be great and an inflatable option might be best. If the ground is smooth a puncture proof option will be fine.
What is the difference between a normal pneumatic tyre and the heavy duty option?
The difference is the tyre size. The heavy duty tyres are wider and have more grip, they are great for launching of larger dinghies or on the beach.
What ply dinghy tyres should I buy?
We always recommend 4 ply tyres, they are far better and will last longer. A 2 ply dinghy tyre might be cheaper but one incident with a sharp stone or bramble will give you a puncture and ruin your days sailing. Invest in your tyres and always buy quality 4 ply tyres for your sailing dinghy.
