Alice Davis is a new sponsored sailor for 2019 and she has hit the ground running. Read about her sailing adventures in 2019 and about how she met all of her goals.
This year was one of the best sailing years ever. I have had so much fun seeing all my friends over the summer and accomplishing all of my goals for the RS Tera and the RS Feva. I managed to win all of the Tera events this year (start of seasons, Inlands, Worlds and Nationals) and do well in the Feva GPs and main events as well. We are now the Ladies National and World Champions and came 5th at Nationals and 3rd at the Worlds.
I have loved going to all the places I have been to this year the best one definitely being the Feva worlds in Italy 🇮🇹. My goal this year was to try and win the Tera events, which I did, and come top 5 in the Feva events. I achieved both of these goals.
I am now moving on into the 420 with a new crew Ellie Rush. The 420 is a very fun boat and very splashy 💦⛵️. This half term I did a 4 day training camp in the 420 during which we improved on a lot of manoeuvres and speed. It feels a bit strange learning all the basics of a boat again but it’s also very interesting and we hope to improve rapidly over this season with our aim of being selected for the worlds and Europeans in 2020.
This year I was also fortunate enough to be invited to the endeavour held in Burnham at the royal Corinthian Yacht Club. This was an amazing experience racing against some of the best sailors in Britain and I would love to get the opportunity to go again.
I appreciate the support from Sailing Chandlery throughout this year and I hope you will continue to follow my progress in the coming year.
