This weeks #FridayFocus is looking at Marlow Excel Racing GP78, a new rope in stock here at Sailing Chandlery.
We all know and love the original Marlow Excel Racing rope and have all been using it on our boats for many years, but what's different about the newer GP78 version of this dyneema core rope?
The main difference with the rope is the Technora cover which is improved over the original polyester cover. The new 16 plait Technora cover provides additional benefits including:
This makes Marlow Excel Racing GP78 perfect for ropes which are used frequently and at high pace on your boat. Think kite halyards, high grip lines and high strength lines.
Inside the cover you'll find a Marlow 12 strand dyneema core which will provide excellent strength. This rope can be tapered and spliced if needed, don't forget we also offer a rope splicing service here at Sailing Chandlery.
Currently we have the rope available in 5mm diameter and in the lime colour.

We ordered a 100m reel of sheet rope for our sailing club's training fleet of Toppers and Fevas. It runs through the blocks very easily and is great to hold. The children on the courses love it!

WIP have really pulled out all the stops on this impact vest to suit all forms of hi-performance watersports. Feels great on, good snug fit - no restrictions to movement and doesn't impact on trapezing like a lot of buoyancy aids.
