Rigging your new laser/ILCA Vang/Kicker System

Here are the steps to rig your Laser Vang system. Where we say front or back this means the front or back of the boat.

Step 1

Unpack all of the parts from the packaging, you should have 7 items in total.

Step 2

Take the base unit and threat the 4mm race rope through the cleat and round the sheave.

Step 3

Run the rope up to your mid block (18mm double block) round and don to the the bottom roller on the base unit.

Step 4

Repeat step 3 once more and the thread the rope though the centre of the 18mm block.

Step 5

Tie a bowline to secure the rope.

Step 6

Grab your 3mm dyneema begin threading through your double block, in the top though the middle and back out the top.

(To make this easier try a small amount of tape around the end of the rope as a draw cord)

Step 7

Now feed the rope up to the top block and key. Then down to base unit and back up to block.

Step 8

Tie a bowline in the rope and you are done.

You can also thread the plastic handle on or tie a rope handle to make the rope easier to pull on while sailing.
