Getting a tiller extension into a suitcase has always been the awkward part of travelling to an event. The Rooster Travel Carbon Tiller Extension solves it with a push-clip mechanism that splits the extension in half, so 1250mm of carbon becomes two manageable pieces that fit in hold luggage or a kit bag.

It is not only for the airport. If you store your boat in a garage, a shed or a dinghy park rack, halving the extension makes it far easier to stow without something snapping or getting stood on.

Away from the travel feature, this is the same carbon extension Rooster has built its reputation on, used by athletes at every Olympic Games since 2000. The carbon tube is stiff and light, so there is no flex or lag between your hand and the tiller when you are steering through waves or throwing in a roll tack.

This is the 22mm diameter version, the chunkier of the two Rooster offers. A thicker tube gives you more to hold onto, which suits larger hands and anyone who sails in gloves through the winter, and it is the more common choice on bigger dinghies and keelboats.

It comes fitted with an RWO Omniflex rubber universal joint for a smooth full range of movement, and the joint is easily replaced if you prefer a different fitting. Alternative joints are available separately, so you are not locked into one setup. The 1250mm length is measured from the end of the carbon tube to the Rooster red rubber stopper, so that is the usable figure rather than an overall measurement including fittings.

Any order placed by 2pm UK time will leave us the same working day unless there is a lead time which we detail on the product page. We do not ship over the weekend or on bank holidays for one simple reason - we love to go sailing as much as you do.

We try to treat delivery as a pass through cost and keep the cost to you as low as possible, on top of our already competitive product prices.

We offer free UK standard delivery for orders over £95 which includes most items. This does not include boats, trailers, trolleys, masts, booms, rig packages and large items which can't be sent via standard mail as they are too large.

We are based in the UK, deliveries sent outside of the UK may be subject to duties and tax on import.

What is the quantity for ropes?

We sell rope by the metre, the quantity is in metres. If you order 5 items you will receive one 5 metre continuous length of that specific rope.

How quickly will you send my order?

We work Monday to Friday excluding bank holidays and pride ourselves on our speed of dispatch. If the item is in stock and available we dispatch any orders received by 2pm the same working day.

What happens if I need to return or exchange?

You have 90 days to return a product for a refund or exchange.

Please do read the product descriptions in full, some items we cannot accept for returns or come with a restocking charge due to them being custom or clearance items.
