57mm Harken Carbo Ratchet Block with Swivel - 2135

57mm Harken Carbo Ratchet blocks allow you to hold your ropes in your hand and offer balance between holding power and controlled easing.

This 57mm ratchet block has an on/off switch so the ratchet can quickly be turned off when not needed. It also swivels so the block goes in the direction the rope is coming from.

This ratchet pulley is one of the most popular Harken sell and can be found on a wide range of sailing dinghies from the Laser through to boats in the RS range.

I'm relatively new to sailing and this is the first time I've had to buy a new ratchet block. I went for this one as the mainsheet block on my single-hander dinghy, instead of a like-for-like replacement for my existing that broke, as it seems to be very well regarded / a popular choice. It appears to be of a very high build quality and i'm sure will last, given Harken's brand reputation. I've only been out on my boat a few times since fitting, but works as expected. If i were to find any negative it'd be to suggest Harken find a way to dampen/quieten the click noise when the ratchet is switched on, as it's quite loud - not that it really matters of course though! Sailing Chandlery have provided a good quality, straightforward service and with the introductory discount this was the best price i could find.

I race land yachts and when you have 60mph winds going over your sail the stresses are immense.I have used harken blocks and especially their ratchet blocks for over 50 years and they have been brilliant. The 57 mm carbo block is ideal for what I need and will stand up to stress for many years. Sailing Chandlery provide a good friendly service an quick delivery times this is important when I am racing.

Delivery and Costs

We try to treat delivery as a pass through cost and keep the cost to you as low as possible, on top of our already competitive product prices.

We offer free UK standard delivery for orders over £75 and includes most items. This does not include boats, trolleys, masts, booms, rig packages and large items which can't be sent via standard mail.

Any order placed by midday will leave us the same working day unless there is a lead time which we detail on the product page. We do not ship over the weekend or on bank holidays.

We do not have other shipping destinations set up currently due to customs charges and the cost of shipping, this will be reviewed soon.
