Mens Gill Dynamic Long John - Black and Ash

A long john is the most versatile piece in a dinghy sailor's wardrobe: full leg coverage for warmth and protection, bare arms for freedom to sheet, hike and trapeze, and the flexibility to put whatever top you like over it as the weather changes.

What sets the Gill Dynamic apart is what it is made from. Instead of neoprene, it uses 3mm BIO foam, a natural rubber blend made from renewable rubber and resins rather than oil or limestone. It performs the same job, trapping warmth in a closed-cell structure so your body heat stays where you want it, without the petrochemical base.

The foam is thermal and impact protective, which matters if you spend your beats leaning over a side deck or kneeling on a centreboard case. Reinforced Di-Guard panels on the seat and knees add abrasion resistance exactly where a long john normally wears through first, so you get more seasons out of it.

A YKK front zip makes it easy to get into on a cold morning, no wrestling with a shoulder entry, and the four-way stretch fabric means nothing fights you when you are moving quickly around the boat. The cut is next to skin, following the contours of the body rather than bagging out under a spray top.

Worth knowing: as a long john it is sleeveless, so you will want a thermal top or spray top over the top for cold days. That is the point of the design, and it is why most dinghy sailors reach for one ahead of a full wetsuit.

Any order placed by 2pm UK time will leave us the same working day unless there is a lead time which we detail on the product page. We do not ship over the weekend or on bank holidays for one simple reason - we love to go sailing as much as you do.

We try to treat delivery as a pass through cost and keep the cost to you as low as possible, on top of our already competitive product prices.

We offer free UK standard delivery for orders over £95 which includes most items. This does not include boats, trailers, trolleys, masts, booms, rig packages and large items which can't be sent via standard mail as they are too large.

Boats, trollies and trailers - These items cannot be sent using a post service, they have to be collected or delivered by our van. Are you outside the United Kingdom?

We are based in the UK, deliveries sent outside of the UK may be subject to duties and tax on import.

These are calculated and shown at the point of payment once you enter your delivery address. You will be asked to pay any duties and taxes at the point of purchase and not at delivery.

What is the quantity for ropes?

We sell rope by the metre, the quantity is in metres. If you order 5 items you will receive one 5 metre continuous length of that specific rope.

How quickly will you send my order?

We work Monday to Friday excluding bank holidays and pride ourselves on our speed of dispatch. If the item is in stock and available we dispatch any orders received by 2pm the same working day.

We do show a lead time on some products, that information is clearly stated on the product page and in the description. Need it faster? Give us a call on 01268 222912, we are always happy to help where we can.

What happens if I need to return or exchange?

You have 90 days to return a product for a refund or exchange.

Please do read the product descriptions in full, some items we cannot accept for returns or come with a restocking charge due to them being custom or clearance items.
