Read MoreSome frequently asked questions that other customers have asked us about Sailing Socks.
What are sailing socks used for?
Sailing socks are used to either provide your feet with additional protection or to keep them warmer in colder water conditions.
Are sailing socks only for dinghy sailing?
No, sailing socks are not only for dinghy sailing. They are used by many on the water sports including paddle boarding, kayaking, canoeing, windsurfing and also by yacht and keelboat sailors.
Can I wear sailing with sailing boots?
Yes, you can wear your sailing socks with a pair of sailing boots and this is the most common combination. If wearing very thick sailing socks you might want to consider going up a size in your boots to allow enough room.
Are sailing socks waterproof?
Many pairs of sailing socks have taped and glued seams which will keep the water out. However there is no way to stop water going in from the top of the sock. Tuck your socks inside your wetsuit if also taped and glued.
When should I wear sailing socks?
Sailing socks tend to be worn in colder conditions as an additional layer. They are not really needed in the UK summer unless you really do feel the cold.
