With the demise of the Laser and introduction of the ILCA came a whole host of new boat builders, one of those being Devoti.
Sailing Chandlery are proud to be a UK Devoti dealer for the ILCA, supplying boats all over the country.
To any sailor who admires quality boats that perform Devoti should not be new name. Founded by Luca Devoti, an Olympic medallist himself, the business has built the best Finns on the market for years which have been used by lots of top sailors including Ben Ainslie. They have won a number of World Championships and have performed very well on the Olympic circuit, both at events and the games.
To speak to the quality of Devoti, this weekend there was a Devoti Finn on the stand opposite us at the RYA Dinghy & Watersports show. With a quick look over this boat you could see that it wasn’t brand new – a closer look showed stickers from both the Rio Olympics and Tokyo Olympics – name another boat builder who can make boats which can still be competitive after 4 years on an Olympic circuit, arguably the last was Marstrom in their creation of the Tornado catamaran.
Since being introduced as an ILCA builder the team at Devoti have been working hard to perfect their ILCA, attention to detail is key for their team and any small gain that can be made is implemented.
We feel the Devoti ILCA is technically better with a new improved hull shape that is built to perform at the highest level. The introduction of a stiffer hull and lighter decks brings excellent performance that the top ILCA sailors across the World love from Devoti.
As we’ve mentioned above Devoti are known for their quality, they put more hours into the boat at the point of build to ensure every part is perfect leading to better consistency, accuracy and quality across every Devoti ILCA they build – a key point when building one design boats.

Cover arrived after three days and is well made and completely covers the boat boom up . The straps and clips all work fine. Good product.
My local chandlery were unable to supply a white inspection hatch and so it was amatter of looking online. Sailing Chandlery had the cover I needed in stock at a good price and delivery. I had never used them before but the service I received was excellent with the delivery on time and the hatch is now fitted.
