Originally designed in 1969 the boat was initially designed as a car toppable sailing dinghy and its journey over the years led to the dinghy being the Olympic class of choice for both men and women.
The Laser has become the Worlds most popular sailing dinghy, you would be hard pushed to visit any dinghy sailing club across the World that doesn't have a Laser in their dinghy park.
The reason the Laser dinghy is popular is because of its flexibility, the three rig options allow sailors from 35kg up to fully grown adults to sail the same hull but with different sail variations. The rigs are very easy to swap and means you can grow with the boat or adjust the rig to the conditions to get your perfect sailing experience.
Whether you're looking for a boat to sail casually, or a boat to race competitively it's very likely the Laser will meet your needs.
The ILCA is the new "official class legal" version of the Laser. Unfortunately the International Laser Class have fallen out with Laser Performance so we are no longer able to supply a fully class legal Laser dinghy to you. However, the version we are offering is identical and comes with around a £2,500 saving. If you are sailing at club or local level it's a massive advantage with the huge saving available.
The only difference is the sail comes without the plastic button and the hull cockpit has a different sticker at the back. All other parts provided are fully Laser and ILCA class legal.

Cover arrived after three days and is well made and completely covers the boat boom up . The straps and clips all work fine. Good product.
My local chandlery were unable to supply a white inspection hatch and so it was amatter of looking online. Sailing Chandlery had the cover I needed in stock at a good price and delivery. I had never used them before but the service I received was excellent with the delivery on time and the hatch is now fitted.
