In this video we are having a look at 3 dinghy mainsheet ropes which we recommend here at Sailing Chandlery.
There is a huge choice of ropes available on the market, different materials, specifications and then you've got to try and choose a colour.
This video gives you three mainsheet rope options which can be used on any dinghy.
Evolution sheet rope has a braided HT polyester cover and lightweight braided multi-fillament polypropylene core.
The construction makes this a perfect sheet rope with flexible rope that is lightweight and strong. The rope floats and also doesn't take on water.
This Evolution sheet rope is available in 6mm 7mm 8mm diameters.
Gottifredi Maffioli swiftcord is perfect for ropes which are constantly adjusted as it's soft on the hands with hard wearing capabilities.
The rope is a mix of a single braid Dyneema SK78 rope with a special non slip fibre weaved together into a rope with no core, also known as a hollow braid.
Because the rope is a hollow braid you can feed a dyneema core up inside easily to add a taper or perform various rope tricks.
This rope has been popular with top sailors on high performance dinghies and catamarans for years.
The Gottifredi Maffioli Swiftcord Rope is available in 4mm 5mm 6mm 7mm 8mm diameters.
This dinghy lite sheet rope features a 12 strand PU coated dyneema SK78 blended core along with a 16 plait cover made from dyneema and a special non-slip fibre.
The construction of this rope makes it flexible, strong and easy to taper - add the benefits of the high grip cover and you've got the perfect sheet rope.

Cover arrived after three days and is well made and completely covers the boat boom up . The straps and clips all work fine. Good product.
My local chandlery were unable to supply a white inspection hatch and so it was amatter of looking online. Sailing Chandlery had the cover I needed in stock at a good price and delivery. I had never used them before but the service I received was excellent with the delivery on time and the hatch is now fitted.
