What is the difference? This is a question that we spend a lot of time discussing with our customers. What is the difference and what do they need. The main difference is to do with the weight of the dacron cloth the sail is made from. Replica Holt Sails are made from 3.8oz and Laser Performance sails are made of 4.2oz. What that means, in short, is that in comparison the Holt sail has a very competitive price but that is due to the lighter sail material it is made from whereas, the Laser Performance sail has heavier and longer lasting dacron but at a higher price.
The replica sails we sell are made by Holt. The Holt sails are great for the odd club racing and cruising your local waterway. If you are planning on regularly racing this sail in mid to high wind then I would recommend buying the Laser Performance sail. You can differentiate the sails by the Holt/Replica sails not having the red starburst on the sail and no Laser Performance button. The Holt/Replica sail has a Holt sticker on the sail above the downhaul eye.
The heavier dacron will hold its shape better in the stronger winds and last longer without the need to replace the sail every few sailing seasons. If you plan on regular club racing we recommend you use the Laser sail over the Holt sail.

Cover arrived after three days and is well made and completely covers the boat boom up . The straps and clips all work fine. Good product.
My local chandlery were unable to supply a white inspection hatch and so it was amatter of looking online. Sailing Chandlery had the cover I needed in stock at a good price and delivery. I had never used them before but the service I received was excellent with the delivery on time and the hatch is now fitted.
