In this article our team here at Sailing Chandlery are going to look at winter sailing clothing options which are more suited to keeping you warm, comfortable and safe in colder sailing conditions.
With the recent UK winds it feels like winter is nearly here for those of you brave enough to continue through the winter in events such as the Sail Juice winter series or other class specific events. When going on the water you're going to want to make sure you've got the right winter sailing clothing to keep you warm and comfortable while sailing your boat.
Lets start from the top of your body.
The Zhik Superwarm® Headband is made from water repellent 3mm neoprene wetsuit material with a comfortable and quick drying fleece inner. It covers your ear and has holes so you can still hear your competitors shouting STARBOARD.
The Gill Polarclava sailing balaclava was designed for extreme water sports conditions. Designed with a 4-way stretch thermal fabric with brushed waffle interior which enhances airflow and drying time, your face will be kept dry in all conditions.

This top has a Polyurethane coating on the outside for water resistance, durability and flexibility combined with a fleece inner layer to keep you snug and warm - a combination that works well when wet or dry.
