We've changed our website so it's now even easier to find the perfect boat rope!

Sailing Chandlery have a wide range of rope in stock, everything from 1mm through to 10mm thick. We also have other popular items such as rope mini spools, twines and splicing tools.

Easy Filters

We appreciate that there are lots of different types of boat rope available and it can be confusing - we only stock a selection of what's available in the market and still have over 100 reels on the shelf.

To make it easier for you to find the perfect rope first time we've added filters to our boat rope page which will lead you to the perfect choice.

You can now filter our rope choices by:

  • Application - Control line, mainsheet etc
  • Diameter - 2mm, 3mm etc
  • Material - Dyneema, polyester etc

By selecting the various options the products shown will reduce to show you a smaller selection of ropes suitable for the task at hand.

Rope Materials

There are 5 rope materials currently available:

  • Polyester - popular for budget applications
  • Dyneema - less stretch than polyester, also known as steel rope
  • Technora - hard wearing and great under heat and pressure, think control lines with lots of pressure and adjustment
  • Nylon - Great for mooring as it has some bounce to absorb shock
  • Polyprop - this material floats so can be found in floatline and lightweight mainsheets where you don't want water to absorb

We are always happy to run through the options and make product recommendations. Please just give us a call and tell us what you're looking for.

We also offer a custom splicing service, so if you need a taper, loop or hard eye just give us a call for a quote.
