Sailing and Marine Boat Rope from Sailing Chandlery

We started our company in 2012 focussing on one thing, rope. That's why we originally called ourselves Dinghy Rope. We moved to Sailing Chandlery in February 2018.

Since 2012 we've served tens of thousands of customers with a variety of marine and sailing rope, mostly for boats, but sometimes for a new washing line, or that odd DIY job.

The business has also evolved a lot, I sometimes think back to the 5 or 6 reels of Marlow rope we started with and how we now have warehouses full of everything from split pins to full boats available to buy.

However, it's important to note that we still very much focus on ropes and getting you the right product for your boat. We also now offer rope splicing, tapering and other custom work which you might not like to do yourself.

Types of Rope

We have over 100 different reels of rope in stock and are still expanding based on demand.

Currently we stock rope by Kingfisher, Gottifredi Maffioli and Marlow. We're also soon to add FSE Robline as feedback from Laser sailors shows the majority of boats are using their ropes for control lines and mainsheets.

In terms of material we stock Dyneema, Polyester, Nylon and Polyprop ropes.

Rope Diameters

Currently, from the shelf we can supply 1mm through to 12mm. However, every week we source larger ropes for our customers and are always happy to do so.

Most Popular Ropes

We naturally sell lots of marine and boat rope every week, the reels are constantly turning with customer orders.

We find the most popular brands are Kingfisher, Maffioli and then Marlow.

Most popular diameter - 4mm rope

Most popular material - polyester rope

Custom Splicing

Whether you've got a braid on braid halyard which needs copying as a replacement, or whether you need a custom set up on your dinghy we can help!

If you have the lengths and a drawing it makes it a bit easier for us, or we can take your existing product and make a copy.

Our rope work prices are competitive so give us a call or drop us an email for a quote.
