Harken Wire Blocks

Harken Wire Blocks

Harken wire blocks are designed for strength and to carry wire halyards and high-strength control lines on all types of boat.

These Harken blocks have high-load composite bearings with a lube anodised sheave for strength and corrosion resistance.

The wire blocks are available in three different sizes from Harken, the 25mm, 38mm and 51mm. The most common in smaller boats are the 25mm and 38mm.

You'll see the 25mm forkhead wire block at the top of the Laser kicker set up and the larger sizes used on internal mainsheet systems to support thin dyneema running through the blocks in a purchase system.

As an example we use the 38mm versions on our Tornado internal mainsheet system where 3mm dyneema runs through the purchase systems. Running thinner dyneema provides the strength you need but with far less friction making the system run smoothly.
