For #FridayFocus this week we're taking a look at the Push Button Quick Release Pin which has been very popular with our Laser sailing customers.
The pin was sourced and tested in collaboration with Laser 4.7 National Champion Jack Graham-Troll and he's been using this pin ever since.
If you're a Laser sailor you'll know that trying to get to a fiddly split pin to take your vang/kicker off of the bottom mast is a pain in the backside.
This pin has a simple push button on the side which releases the ball at the end of the pin so the pin can slip in and out easily without any hassle. You've also got a ring so you can attach the pin so you don't lose it.
It's important to note that the handle and button are made from aluminium so you should wash the quick release pin very carefully with fresh water after sailing.

A very robust design with an easy to use valve and attachment ring. It also has a loop to tuck the valve away to stop it snagging on the shroud as it's hoisted which is a nice addition. Overall an excellent float.
