Sailing Chandlery and the SB20 UK class are inviting sailors of all experience levels to join us to Try and SB20 day - a hands-on opportunity to step aboard, learn the ropes, and feel the adrenaline of this iconic racing class.

The SB20 is a three to four person keelboat, designed for fast, tactical, and exhilarating racing. Known for its one-design class rules, the SB20 ensures that races are won by skill, teamwork, and tactics - not just by having the newest of most high-tech boat. 

At 6.15m (20ft) in length, the SB20 is big enough to give you a real taste of competitive sailing, yet light and nimble enough to respond instantly to every adjustment on the helm or trim.

Whether you're a seasoned racer or just curious about the class, you'll feel right at home.

Now is the perfect time to join the class with an exciting racing calendar for 2026 and the 2027 World Championships being here in the UK at Torbay.

• Expert Guidance - Our experienced SB20 sailors will be right there with you, walking you through everything from hoisting the spinnaker to finding that perfect hiking position

• No Experience Needed - Never sailed the SB20 before? No problem. This event is about having fun, and learning at your own pace.

• Racing Sailors who want to explore a new class or sharpen their skills
• Cruisers looking for something faster, sportier, and more hands-on
• Newcomers to Sailing eager to try their first keelboat in a safe, fun setting

• A buoyancy aid
• Comfortable sailing clothes (layers are best - it can get windy and wet!)
• Non-marking, grippy shoes
• Waterproof jacket / trousers if you have them
• A hat. suncream, and water bottle
• A towel and a change of clothes for after sailing
