Sponsored Sailor Update

Dinghy Rope Sponsored Sailors

First of all, apologies for not writing within the news section for a while - we've been extremely busy keeping you all kitted up and out on the water.

We haven't focussed on our sponsored sailors for a while so I thought it would be good to update you on where they've been and the superb results they've been collecting between them.

Andrew Whapshott - 49er

Andrew hasn't been out and about for a little while but he does have a great excuse, he's been finishing up uni and building his own foiling Moth!!

He did however pop along to the Dinghy Rope sponsored East Coast Piers Race to take on the dinghy course in his 49er.

If you want to follow the progress of his Moth build then follow the page on Facebook.

Chloe Barr - Laser Radial

Chloe is now back from the Laser Radial Under 21 World Championships in Nieuwpoort.

She managed to bring home a 22nd overall and 2nd GBR boat, great work Chloe!

George Coles - Laser Standard

Since winning the Harken Youth Trophy at the Sail Juice Winter Series George has been very busy.

He has just returned from France for the Laser Europeans and then he also attended the national championships where he won first youth and came 6th overall.

George has also recently starting using some new Zhik sailing kit, here is what he said.

My new Zhik sailing kit is great and I'm really happy with it. The best benefit is how fast it dries, this makes it really useful especially when at long events when I'm in a tent or a caravan with no drying facilities as it will dry fully over night just hanging in a room or in a couple of hours on a washing line. So I always have dry kit in the morning. I have also found it really warm which is especially helpful on the windy days as I don't need to have much kit on to stay warm, so I can still move about the boat really easily and quickly without my kit slowing me down.

Jamie Cook - Optimist

Jamie has just sailed his last official event in the Optimist and he finished it off in style. Optimist Open and British Championship and with a race to spare - great work Jamie!

Next up Jamie is looking forward to the transition into the 420.

Jason Rickards - Musto Skiff

Jason has been continuing with his Musto sailing at Datchet Water. He has also travelled to the Musto Skiff TT events for this year and currently sits in 6th place.

Next up for Jason are the Musto Skiff National Championships at Brightlingsea - best of luck Jason!

Ross Thompson and Alex Smallwood - 420

Ross and Alex have been on a tour around Europe with their 420 taking part in the French Nationals and most recently the European Championships where they finished 8th.

They also won the RYA Youth Championships earlier in the year.

Keep up the good work guys!

William Harrison - Topper, 29er and Nacra 15

As you can see William has a full choice of boats to sail with the most recent aquisition to the Harrison fleet being a Nacra 15.

William is just back from the Topper Nationals in Wales where he placed in 55th position.

Before that he spent a week on Lake Garda sailing the Nacra, one of the youngest competitiors there he learnt loads and is looking forward to getting the boat back on the water. That's of course after this weekends Topper Summer Championships at Marconi Sailing Club.

Yesterday he was sailing the 29er, again at Marconi Sailing Club.

Keep up the hard work everyone, and best of luck in your next sailing event.
